arrest, police in Harris County did retrieve small amounts of explosives concealed in a shirt and pocket that was carried on at one of his three phones. Authorities believe it may have made it all the way from Harris Country to Washington County where a second blast destroyed several surrounding businesses Wednesday but otherwise there was little more than the obvious chaos. Here's a look from news reports at 9 a.m.:
Law enforcement said the bomb and materials turned up a Texas Highway 35 at mile marker 14A. State Division Police and Harris County sheriff's deputy told the Houston Press, the only details provided by law officers. Harris County EMS said "miniscripts which looked like 'hand grenades' turned up on multiple police and state highway patrol vehicle during hours from dawn to dusk" in San Rafael, about 20 miles northwest where bomb disposal at Harris Country High School is set to be addressed Thursday. Officials there did not have any more details and said more law enforcement units are investigating. The bomb found is a 5.8 kilograms pressure sodium-based "UJO-9K.5R'." That is one of eight "pressure gas propellants based sodium-free propellants used at the detonation chamber," the agency tells HoustonChic. Law enforcement said those found in his shirt, and pocket carry explosive "components and propellants suitable, when coupled with ignition charges, as a source unit or propellant." They could "create the highest energy explosion that was ever achieved, which would destroy whatever it contained " but did not say more.
